The treetop walk is a viewing tower constructed predominantly from timber. The structure of the cup-shaped tower consists of an outer ring of 12 double-sloped glulam beams, which are arranged at equal intervals in a rotationally symmetrical pattern, thus forming a polygonal spatial structure. The 12 main supports slope away from the centre and are also tilted anti-clockwise. This creates intriguing perspectives that make the cup appear somewhat ‘skewed and twisted’.

Access to the tower is via a point approximately 5.0 metres above the treetop walk. The ascent to the viewing platform is facilitated by a wooden spiral structure, which is secured to the wooden supports via steel cantilever beams. Wooden stringers with wooden plank decking are fixed between the steel cantilever beams.

At the top of the tower, at a height of approximately 40 metres, there is a steel viewing platform. The platform consists of steel cantilever beams projecting outwards, which are connected to wooden posts and the wooden longitudinal beams between them, with a plank decking.

The spiral structure rising up inside the tower extends all the way to the viewing platform, thus providing barrier-free access to the platform. Once you reach the viewing platform, you are rewarded with a unique view: the Black Forest Central/North Nature Park stretches out all around you like an impressive sea of dense Black Forest woodland.
