... Dancing in the park, adventure golf, a climbing park, a barefoot park. Bad Bellingen’s spa gardens are a natural, recreational and cultural hub all in one.

Bad Bellingen’s spa gardens were once a floodplain forest, situated directly on the banks of a tributary of the Rhine. However, increasing aridity led to the silting up of this natural area, and so the ground-breaking ceremony for the spa gardens took place in the early 1960s. Some of the old trees from the floodplain forest era can still be seen; they form the “veterans” of the park. Incidentally, the park consists of two parts: one that has been landscaped and one where nature is allowed to take its course. Here, the flora and fauna can develop undisturbed in all their biodiversity.

The Spa Gardens as a habitat

Our spa gardens offer not only relaxation but also entertainment. In summer, our spa concerts and dance events take place here in the open air. In the centre of the park, you’ll find a boules court, a mini-golf course, a forest high ropes course and a children’s playground. Caring for nature: eco-friendly LED lighting LED lights guide your way through the spa gardens. The refurbishment has resulted in energy savings of over 85 per cent! Special lenses direct the light onto the paths in such a way as to minimise disturbance to the park’s nocturnal wildlife.

Morning walk: "Birds in the Spa Gardens"

In spring, when the days grow longer and nature slowly awakens, the peak season for birdlife begins. During an early morning walk along the well-signposted bird trail through the spa gardens, you’re sure to spot thirty to forty species of bird! Starting point: the spa garden pond.
