Hiking
Experience the region in the most natural way possible and enjoy varied routes through stunning countryside.
Following the trails of the Petite Camargue Alsacienne
The Petite Camargue Alsacienne (Little Alsatian Camargue) is a nature reserve located in the floodplain forests of the Rhine in southern Alsace. This exceptional area is managed by an association comprising conservationists, scientists and politicians.
Our suggested walking route takes you along the nature park’s paths, past all the main attractions:
The Augraben, the Rhine Exhibition building, the fish farm building, the viewing towers overlooking the ponds, the main building housing the administration of the Petite Camargue Alsacienne, and the ancillary buildings for researchers. If you’re lucky, you might also spot Highland cattle grazing in the meadows.
